A lot of people have been thinking of remodeling their kitchen or bathroom but they just don’t know where to start. So, here are some Q’s and A’s from us, to help you get your remodeling project started.
Question: Remodeling my kitchen or bathroom is so overwhelming. I have been thinking of getting it done for a long time but I kept giving up because I don’t know where to start. Where do I start?
Answer: You are right. It can be overwhelming. There are many steps involved and many decisions have to be made. The best place to start is by dreaming. Dream of a Kitchen or bathroom you always wanted. Write down the features and details you desire most. (Ex: color of the ceiling, floors, type of tiles and etc). Then pick up some magazines or read some online interior design blogs. If you come across anything that you like, be sure to tear them out and start collecting them in your remodeling folder. For example: you might tear out the walls from one of the magazines and tear out the floors from another. At this stage, you are just drawing out the plans and starting to get a feel of what it is you want your kitchen or bathroom to look like. Do not start looking at where to get the materials because you will overwhelm yourself even more. Instead, call us once you are confidant and have a general idea of what you want your kitchen or bathroom to look like. We will then help you complete your entire layout. Let us worry more, so you can worry less. See? It wasn’t too bad. Right?
Question: How long does a kitchen or bathroom remodeling project typically take from start to finish?
Answer: After the design is done and orders are delivered, complete project including electrical, plumbing, and installing counter-tops / appliances takes about 4 weeks depending on size and scope of project. For a bathroom project, complete project may only take up to a week after the design is done and vanity/tub is delivered.
Question: Do I need to get my own permits for the renovation?
Answer: With us, we will prepare all the necessary paperwork for you to sign and get notarized. We will submit to the town and set up inspections on your behalf. You as a customer, will not have to worry about your own permits.
Question: Who is going to be at my house doing the work? Can I trust those people to do the right thing? How can I keep track of who is coming in and out of my house during the remodeling process?
Answer: We do background checks on all of our employees. All our employees carry company badges as identifications. There will also be a project manager assigned to your renovation. He will be there to make sure everyone is doing the right thing at all time. He will make sure that you have a job folder on site, which shows you the plans of the day, who is coming in and out and what is being done for the rest of the week. You will always have more information than you need.
